Daniel Powter
Daniel Richard Powter (born February 25, 1971) is a Canadian recording artist, songwriter, and pianist
He is best known for his self-penned hit song "Bad Day" (2005), which spent five weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. Powter was the only solo artist to register a #1 hit in that year without previously having had another song chart in the Hot 100
His song "Bad Day" was played after John McCain's concession speech at the end of the 2008 presidential election
Was once taken from class by his mother during exam time to attend the concert of their favorite singer
Always wears a beanie hat to cover a large scar on his head he received after being hit by a car when he was still a child
